More details have come to light concerning the lawsuit filed by Boston's Tom Scholz against Micki Delp, the ex-wife of the late Boston singer Brad Delp, and her sister, Connie Goudreau, the wife of ex-Boston guitarist Barry Goudreau. Scholz claims the two made defamatory remarks about him, blaming him for Delp's suicide last March. Scholz offered to settle the suit for 75-thousand dollars and a public apology, but Daniel Tarlow, a lawyer for Connie, tells the Boston Herald, "This [the settlement proposal] is a pipe dream. They won't pay him a dime because they haven't done anything. Connie Goudreau has done nothing actionable." Also in Scholz's proposal is a line that prevents Barry Goudreau from promoting himself as an "original" member of Boston. "Barry Goudreau isn't even a party to the suit," Tarlow says. "But this is the only way [Scholz] can get what he truly wants." Micki Delp has yet to respond to the suit, and unless she does so, a judgment could be issued against her. An attorney for Scholz declined to comment.

It will be a sad Celebrity Apprentice for country singer Trace Adkins tonight when the Hydra team faces its first task without Gene Simmons. Adkins says, "Let me tell you something about that man -- when he speaks of his children...there is a pride and a love that comes out of the pores of his face. And then he'll grab a woman and pin her against the wall as soon as he's finished talking about his kids." This week's task will require the teams to sell tickets to a Broadway play. The team with the most sales wins. Special guests include Frasier actor David Hyde Pierce and W-W-E chairman Vince McMahon. Celebrity Apprentice airs on N-B-C at 9:00 p-m [ET]. Simmons will be on T-V tonight -- he plays himself in a cameo on the A-B-C sitcom Ugly Betty.

With the recent odd behavior of such celebs as Britney Spears and Amy Winehouse, Rolling Stone has published what its editors feel are the "Top 25 Songs About Insanity." Pink Floyd's "Brain Damage" tops the list, which includes quite a number of classic rock acts, including Black Sabbath, David Bowie, The Doors and The Rolling Stones.

The band Led Zeppelin opened for on their first trip to the United States was Vanilla Fudge. This past weekend at the NAMM music merchandise trade show in Anaheim, California, the Fudge's Carmine Appice [PR: uh-PEECE] ran into Jason Bonham, a fellow drummer and the son of his late friend John Bonham. Appice tells us that while filling John's shoes at Zep's recent reunion concert in London "must've been hard" for Jason, he could also feel Jason's excitement about the show. "He was showing me all the pictures on his I-Phone. It was great." Appice also tells us that he and Fudge bassist Tim Bogert have approached Jeff Beck to do a one-off reunion concert of their early '70s trio Beck-Bogert-Appice in Japan later this year. No word yet as to whether Beck will take them up on it.

According to The Sun, Robert Plant is not a fan of Radiohead. Plant was reportedly in a London pub when Radiohead came on the jukebox, and he was overheard saying, "What's this rhyming crap?" The staff then put on the Red Hot Chili Peppers, but that did not go over well either as Plant called it a "nursery rhyme."

The Kurt Cobain documentary Cobain: About a Son will be released on D-V-D on February 19th.

Ringo Starr says he will tour North America this summer with another All-Starr Band, but he will not say who those all-stars will be. "I don't talk about it until it is set -- otherwise someone may drop out and then it looks crazy." Ringo and a band featuring Dave Stewart will perform on The Late, Late Show tonight on C-B-S and at the House of Blues in West Hollywood, California tomorrow afternoon -- which will serve as an all-ages release party for his new album, Liverpool 8.

John Fogerty will perform at the Grammy Awards, February 10th at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. He and his band will be part of a six-and-a-half-minute segment with Jerry Lee Lewis, Fats Domino and Little Richard. Fogerty's latest C-D, Revival, has been nominated in the Best Rock Album category.

R-E-M have been in New York this week filming the video for "Supernatural Serious," the first single from their new album, Accelerate. in stores April 1st. Among the locations they chose to roll the cameras was Babeland, a sex toy shop, and Inoteca, an Italian restaurant -- both on Manhattan's Lower East Side. The Babeland shoot had them performing near the window display, and the restaurant scenes were shot outside with pedestrians looking on. The trio has lined up March shows in Austin, Texas and Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Accelerate is due in stores April 1st.

The Police are on tour in Australia for the first time in 24 years. They got things going there last night in Brisbane. They have shows through February 2nd in Perth, followed by Singapore, Macau, two cities in Japan, and Hawaii, where this leg wraps up on February 17th. Sting says the tour has been "very nostalgic," adding that "it almost seems as if we've never been away." The tour moves on to Sydney tomorrow night.

Nikki Sixx and former Baywatch hottie Donna D'Errico had their divorce finalized in November, but the bitterness will continue. D'Errico is reportedly looking to publish a book titled Letters From Rehab, which contains all of the letters she received from the former Motley Crue bassist while he was in drug rehab in 2001. She's also looking for a publisher for her memoirs, which will focus on her marriage and divorce from Sixx.

In case you missed it, Gene Simmons was fired from Celebrity Apprentice last week. But he still sticks by the way he went about developing a mobile printing endeavor utilizing Kodak's new all-in-one printer. On his website, he writes, "For the record, Kodak is a quality brand and you should continue to buy it. They have a terrific line of products. I don't believe now, or then, that positioning their brand as a 'buy our ink at half the price' is a good idea. In fact, it's a horrible idea. Kodak stock has been going down on Wall Street, and my appraisal was and continues to be that it has to re-position itself as a worldwide, quality brand, period. It's a Kodak world. That was my invention and I stand by it." Celebrity Apprentice airs on N-B-C tomorrow night at 9:00 [ET].

The final 24 hours of Keith Moon's life will be documented tonight on Final 24 on The Biography Channel (11:00 p-m [ET]). Moon was found dead in his London apartment on September 7th, 1978 from a prescription drug overdose. Tonight's show features archival footage of The Who drummer, reenactments, and interviews with his family and close friends -- including personal assistant Dougal Butler and Alice Cooper. The night before his death, Moon was Paul McCartney's guest at a film preview of The Buddy Holly Story.

Ex-KISS guitarist Ace Frehley has added more dates to his first solo tour in more than 10 years. He kicks things off February 1st in Columbus, Ohio with dates through March 29th in Rapid City, South Dakota followed by England in April. He hopes to release a new album in March.

Ringo Starr was scheduled to perform the title track to his new album, Liverpool 8, yesterday on Live With Regis and Kelly, but left the show after the producer asked him to edit the four-minute-plus song to under three. He says he's able to do the song in three-minutes and 30-seconds, but given its autobiographical theme, he couldn't edit it any shorter. Yesterday afternoon, Ringo told us, "We'd done our best and there was no compromise from his side so we left." Ringo adds that he has no hard feelings towards Regis Philbin. "This has nothing to do with Regis. We love Regis." Ringo had been booked since November, with the commitment of going no longer than two-minutes and 30-seconds on the song. A spokesman says the limit had been reiterated to Ringo's camp many times since in writing and verbally -- and had been agreed to. Ringo's song came in at nearly five minutes, and the show agreed to extend its limit to three minutes. Ringo will perform four songs tomorrow night on The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson on C-B-S.

Eddie Vedder's Into the Wild soundtrack contribution "Guaranteed," which won a Golden Globe for best original song last weekend, was shut out of the Oscar nominations yesterday.

Aerosmith bass player Tom Hamilton will donate memorabilia to Boston's Hard Rock Cafe Aerosmithsonian collection on January 31st. The Hard Rock will repay Hamilton's generosity by donating 30-thousand dollars to Massachusetts General Hospital Youth Care.

The Eagles have been nominated for best International Pop / Rock Group at the Echo Awards, Germany's equivalent of the Grammys. The awards will be handed out on February 15th in Berlin.

Rush have announced the 2008 leg of their Snakes and Arrows tour. It will start with their first ever appearance in San Juan, Puerto Rico on April 11th and will hit over 45 cities throughout the U-S and Canada. Included on this tour are their first stops in more than a decade in Orlando, Florida; Oklahoma City; New Orleans; Reno, Nevada; Moline, Illinois; Boise, Idaho; Austin, Texas; Jacksonville, Florida; and Winnipeg, Manitoba. A Snakes and Arrows live C-D will be released in April.

Sammy Hagar has signed on for more dates on county superstar Kenny Chesney's Poets and Pirates Tour. He'll now be out with Chesney for shows in May and July. Hagar also has solo dates in Las Vegas next month and Lake Tahoe, Nevada in May, and he'll announce more dates soon. Other artists joining Chesney along the way include Brooks and Dunn, Big and Rich, Keith Urban, LeAnn Rimes and Gary Allan.

Ringo Starr will be making quite a few T-V appearances this week to promote his new album, Liverpool 8. Tonight he'll be on C-B-S's Late Show With David Letterman, followed by the syndicated Live With Regis and Kelly tomorrow. And on Thursday he'll be back on C-B-S to do four songs on the Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson. In addition to the title track, he'll also do "Photograph," and from The Beatles he'll play "Boys" and "With a Little Help From My Friends." He'll be joined by Dave Stewart, who co-wrote "Liverpool 8." Ringo will hit the road this summer with another All-Starr Band. He hasn't announced who'll be in the group, but he has confirmed that he will once again rehearse in Canada, which he has done for his last three tours. Ringo says he rehearses in Canada to "save days in America" because he is "only allowed so many days" in the U-S. His last All-Starr Band tour was in 2006.

Robert Plant and Alison Krauss have announced the first U-S dates on their upcoming Raising Sand tour. Only four shows have been revealed so far -- April 20th in Louisville, Kentucky; April 22nd in Knoxville, Tennessee; April 23rd in Chattanooga, Tennessee; and April 26th in Birmingham, Alabama. The tour will feature a band led by Raising Sand producer T-Bone Burnett. Plant and Krauss will do songs from the duets album, as well as from their solo careers. A longer North American leg will take place in June and July.

Roger Daltrey is trying another tactic to raise money for his pet charity, the Teenage Cancer Trust. He's thrown his support behind a contest styled after the popular U-K talent show The X Factor. 20 unsigned bands will compete, with the best six playing at a fundraising concert in April.

One of the highlights of the annual NAMM musical merchandise trade show, which took place Thursday through yesterday in Anaheim, California, is the unveiling of a new crop of artist signature model instruments. Among the artists honored with personally customized models or lines in 2008 are Carlos Santana (a line of Paul Reed Smith electrics), Eric Clapton (a Martin acoustic), Elvis Costello (a Gibson acoustic) and Eddie Van Halen (a new Fender electric, the "Wolfgang," to go with the previously issued "Frankenstein" model). Some of the guitars are limited editions and most are quite pricey. Santana tells us that even though he loves his new signature series, he'll never stop searching for the perfect guitar.

Nikki Sixx says that when he started Sixx A-M to record songs for the soundtrack to his book The Heroin Diaries, he wasn't looking to craft any huge hits. He just wanted to make an album that he could be proud of. And the Motley Crue bassist says he still doesn't have any expectations for the very successful side project. He tells us, "We're a band and people are really enjoying it and we're enjoying it and our expectations are zero. If it continues to grow, that would be phenomenal. If it doesn't, we've made an amazing record."

With lottery winners picking up their concert tickets outside London's O-2 Arena yesterday afternoon, Led Zeppelin was inside doing a private show for friends, family and record executives. Among the songs they ran through were "Good Times/Bad Times," "Ramble On," "In My Time of Dying," "No Quarter," "Nobody's Fault But Mine," "D'yer Maker" (pr: Jamaica) and "Communication Breakdown." Jimmy Page reportedly tried out numerous sound systems in the O-2 to ensure the best possible sound. Styx singer-guitarist James "J-Y" Young, in London for tonight's show, tells us, "From the reports I got from people that own the building, they just said he was over the moon with how great it sounded to him on stage."

Tonight's reunion of Led Zeppelin in London promises to attract a star-studded audience. Among those who flew in are James "J-Y" Young and Ricky Phillips from Styx; Def Leppard singer Joe Elliott; and Ann and Nancy Wilson from Heart, and Nancy's husband, director Cameron Crowe. Rumored guests include members of U-2 and James Taylor. Ann Wilson and her friends started a pool to guess what the opening song will be. J-Y of Styx, who we caught up with last night, says the obvious one is "Rock and Roll" whose opening line is, "Been a long time since I rock and rolled." Young says, "That's a factual statement and plus it's the right energy to start this show." J-Y was asked by Styx bass player Ricky Phillips to be his guest tonight. Phillips was invited by his friend, Jason Bonham, who is drumming in Zeppelin. "I'm excited to see Jason. I know how cool this is for him. He's going to be stepping into his father's (John Bonham) shoes."

KISS are suing a Canadian concert promoter for breach of contract. They were scheduled to perform in Whistler, British Columbia in September, but less than two weeks before the show the promoter pulled the plug, citing "logistical problems at the mountain concert site." So they've filed a lawsuit in the Supreme Court of British Columbia claiming that the cancellation "injured their respective reputations." They are seeking 900-thousand dollars in damages.

An electric guitar once owned by Brian Jones of The Rolling Stones was recently discovered after having been missing for more than 40 years. The Harmony Stratotone model, which Jones used on the band's early British single "Come On," is supposedly the one on which he taught Keith Richards to play. Back when the Stones were still struggling musicians, Jones gave it to his dentist to settle a bill. The family of Doctor Basil Wilson has held onto the now-classic instrument since the '60s and last week revealed its existence to the media. They plan to let the public see the instrument soon. Thought to be worth a half-million-dollars, the guitar is on loan to a new museum dedicated to Jones at the Wheatsheaf pub near Cheltenham, England, where the rock star first performed in public.

George Thorogood is one of the featured artists at the Association of Independent Music Publishers annual Songwriters in the Round event Thursday at the House of Blues in West Hollywood, California. He'll perform a few songs and participate in a question-and-answer session.

On Friday, on the eve of the 27th anniversary of the assassination of John Lennon, his widow, Yoko Ono, issued a statement encouraging world peace. "Let's not waste the lives of those we have lost. Let's, together, make the world a place of love and joy."

"Say It's Not True," the Queen and Paul Rodgers song, has been downloaded more than 100-thousand times since it became available earlier this month. Rod Stewart has turned down a request from the producers of the U-K soap opera River City to star in the New Year's Day episode.

John Mellencamp told his audience last week in Erie, Pennsylvania that he will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on March 10th in New York. His spokesman won't comment, but we have learned that unless someone is playing a cruel joke on the Indiana native, then he will be enshrined after being nominated three times. This year's other nominees are Afrika Bambaataa, Beastie Boys, Chic, Leonard Cohen, The Dave Clark Five, Madonna, Donna Summer and The Ventures. The inductees will be announced next month.

Green Day will reportedly begin work next month on a follow-up to 2004's monster success American Idiot. Billie Joe Armstrong and company are apparently ready to put American Idiot behind them and will depart from political themes on the new disc. There's no word yet on when album will come out.

Peter Frampton recently joined former Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell on stage in Nashville to perform that band's song "Black Hole Sun," which Frampton covered on his last album, Fingerprints. A video of the performance is on Frampton's website, Frampton-dot-com.

Rush drummer Neil Peart has posted another lengthy piece on his website, writing more about his recent motorcycle travels between shows on the band's European tour and about his love for food and cooking. He says, "It's only in the past 10 years that I have taken any interest in cooking -- before that, I couldn't do much more than boil an egg... By gradually learning to prepare dishes that I liked to eat...I have built up a fair repertoire of simple meals. That minor accomplishment not only impresses women no end, it has changed the way I look at a restaurant menu. Now I automatically dismiss anything I could make myself, and choose dishes that are difficult or especially time-consuming to make." Rush will continue their Snakes and Arrows tour next year.

After doing a world tour this year, Steely Dan plan to hit the road again next summer, followed by Donald Fagen doing another solo tour in the fall. There is also talk of a new album. He tells Reuters, "I'm back into songwriting mode -- for myself and also talking with Walter [Becker] about a Steely Dan album." Steely Dan's last album was Everything Must Go in 2003.

Phil Collins and Mike Rutherford of Genesis and Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason are among the all-star investors in a private members club in London. One Alfred Place is being described as an edgy media hangout that will open in February. Rock stars are not new to private club investments. Four years ago Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood opened the Harrington Club in London and lost his shirt to the tune of millions.

A broken wrist has forced Roger McGuinn to cancel all shows for the remainder of 2007, including this week's three-day engagement at Weber [pr: WEE-bur] State University in Utah. His wife Camilla tells us The Byrds founder slipped in any icy parking lot last weekend, and broke his fall with his right arm.The master of the rock and roll 12-string guitar will be in a cast until the middle of January. The McGuinns thank everyone for their prayers and good wishes. Camila adds, "We never know what a day may bring forth, but we trust everything will work out all right! The music will continue!"
